Judging for the 2008 Showcase has been completed and all participants have been notified by e-mail. Submissions for the 2009 Showcase will open Summer of 2008. NANPA members may submit images for $10 each or six for $50, and they may submit as many as they want. The submission form has been set up to receive entries and payments, but members also have the option of sending images on a CD with accompanying payment. Prizes will be awarded as follows: Tier I - The top ten winning entries will receive prize money in the amount of $250 each. Tier II - The top 100 (which includes the top 10) winners will appear in the online Showcase, in the printed journal, Expressions, and at the 2008 Summit. Tier III - An additional 150 images (runners-up) will appear in Expressions only, but will NOT appear in the online Showcase or at the 2008 Summit. An additional $250 prize, the People's Choice Award, will be chosen from the top 250 by attendees of the 2008 NANPA Summit. One copy of the journal will be distributed free to each NANPA member and additional copies will be available for purchase. The journal will also be sent free to 500 leading industry photo buyers. Showcase 2008 Jury Panel - Helen Gilks Helen Gilks is owner and manager of Nature Picture Library, a specialist photo agency based in the UK and formerly part of the BBC Natural History Unit. Previously, Helen was manager of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition organized by BBC Wildlife magazine and the Natural History Museum, London. Kevin Schaefer Kevin Schaefer is the 2007 Recipient of NANPA's Outstanding Nature Photographer Award. His work has appeared in all of the most respected science and nature magazines in the U.S., including National Geographic, Smithsonian, Audubon and Natural History. He is a founding Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers. Rob Sheppard Rob Sheppard is editor-at-large for Outdoor Photographer magazine and was the editor for 12 years. He is also the author/photographer of over twenty books about photography. Please read and understand the Showcase 2008 rules before submitting your images.
